Zinzie - By Dandy Ahuruonye © 2000 - 2014

ZINZIE

Zinzie's family are Jehovah’s Witnesses.

On Saturday mornings, her parents took her out in the ministry. On some Saturdays after the preaching work, her parents took her out for lunch.

Zinzie like to go out in the ministry at times but she does not like the ministry very much.

She goes to preaching with her family because she does not want to stay home on her own. When her dad asked her if she would like to do lots of ministry when she grows up she said no.

One day when the family was preparing to go out to teach people about JEHOVAH and his promise to bring paradise, Zinzie said she did not want to go.

Her parents left her at home and went out to study the bible with their neighbours. Now she is at home on her own when the doorbell rang.

Zinzie answered and opened the door.

She saw another witness family who were doing door to door witnessing in her estate. The man, his wife, and their little daughter - Kele, introduced themselves to Zinzie and explained to her that they have come to teach her about JEHOVAH using the bible.

Zinzie told them that she already know JEHOVAH and studies the bible. Then Kele the little girl asked her why she did not go out with her parents to go teach other kids what she have learned about J. The Pal family left after speaking with her.

When her parents returned, they noticed that Zinzie was a bit calm. Her mum asked her if she is alright, Zinzie said she was fine. Why are you so calm then? Did something happen, while we were away?

A little girl came to preach to me with her parents. What did you tell the little girl? Her mum asked. I told her that I am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. What did say to that? She asked me why then did I not go out in the ministry. What did you say to that? I did not say anything I kept quiet.

On another day when her parents were going out to conduct bible studies, she also stayed home saying she did not want to go out in the ministry. Soon after her parents left, the doorbell rang. Zinzie answered and opened the door.

This time it was an angel sent by JEHOVAH to visit her. When Zinzie saw the angel she was very scared and wanted to close the door quickly. However, the angel told her to calm down; he said he had just come to talk to her about the preaching work. The angel said - can I come in? Zinzie said - yes, please come in.

She gave the angel a chair to sit down; she also gave him a glass of juice to drink. When both of they are relaxed, the angel said to Zinzie –

Do you know why JEHOVAH asked his friends who are Witnesses to go out regularly to teach people the bible? Zinzie said no. The angel explained to her why – JEHOVAH want everyone to study the bible so they will learn about J, the kind of person he is, and the good things he promised to people. Do you know some of the things that JEHOVAH said he will do for people here on earth? Yes, he said he will .........

Very good!

Now are there other things he promised for people here on earth? Food, health, friends, beautiful parks, more knowledge of J, good work, build your own house........

Waoh!! Said Zinzie.

Would you like to live in a place like that? Yes please, yes please!

What kind of people do you think that JEHOVAH will allow to live in such a lovely place? Umm  ...  do you think JEHOVAH has asked this people to do something before he will bring them into this paradise?

Yes. What did he ask them to do?

Preach, be a good girl at home and at school, attend meetings regularly at the K/H, and obey mummy and daddy.

What does it mean to obey JEHOVAH, mummy, and daddy?

Do those things they have asked me to do. Now are you doing them?

No. Ok, do you think that JEHOVAH will allow you to get into this very nice place if you are not obeying him or your parents or even the teacher? No.

Would you like to live in paradise then? Yes. What do you think you should do now? Listen to JEHOVAH and my parents, and then obey. Will you do so? Yes, I will. If you did, JEHOVAH will allow you to live in paradise

The angel gave Zinzie a hug and left.

When her parents returned, they noticed that Zinzie was a bit calm. Her mum asked her if she is alright, Zinzie said she was fine. Why are you so calm then? Did anything happen while we were out in the ministry?

An angel came to see you? Asked her dad. Yes daddy! What happened? What did the angel say?

Zinzie then told her parents about the visit from the angel.

Her parents gave her a hug and told her everything will be alright

The next time her parents prepares to go out in the preaching work Zinzie got ready too and went with them.

Zinzie never missed out in the ministry again
